U.S. Rep. Veronica Escobar is sounding the alarm over the impacts of a Republican plan to allow Affordable Care Act tax credits to expire.

A report from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office found that the Republican plan to end ACA tax credits would likely have deep and far-reaching impacts on millions of Americans who rely on the program for health care.

“(President) Donald Trump and Republicans swore to the American people that they would lower costs yet have made life more expensive and difficult for hard-working Americans," Escobar, D-El Paso, wrote in a statement. "Over the past nine months, they’ve repeatedly broken their promise and appear eager to do so again."

Escobar said her party plans to continue fighting the Republican plan.
