A police investigation has been launched into the "unexplained" death of a baby . ‌

Officers were called to the Rose Hill area of Oxford after receiving reports of the death on Saturday morning. ‌

The infant was rushed to hospital after taking unwell but died a few hours later. ‌

Police say they are treating the death as unexplained, but not suspicious. ‌

Cops later visited the baby's home, which is described as regular procedure in cases of sudden or unexplained deaths. Witnesses reported seeing officers, paramedics and critical care cars rush to the property.

A police spokesman told the Mirror : "Thames Valley Police were called to an address in the Rose Hill area at just before 9am on Saturday to reports that a baby was unwell.
