SOUTHPORT, N.C. (WECT) - The Southport Police Department has arrested and charged a man in connection with Saturday night’s deadly mass shooting at a waterfront bar in Southport.
According to Southport Police Chief Todd Coring, officers arrested Nigel Edge for the deadly shooting at American Fish Company that killed three and injured at least eight. According to court documents, Edge is charged with three counts of first-degree murder, five counts of attempted first-degree murder and five counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
Edge is accused of using a short-barrel AR rifle with a suppressor, folding stock and scope to fire from his boat.
He is due in court on Monday at 2 p.m.
