The Los Angeles Chargers have received some good news regarding offensive tackle Joe Alt.

The former first-round pick left Sunday’s game against the New York Giants with an ankle injury in the first quarter and needed to be carted off the field after getting rolled up on.

Alt was blocking Giants pass rusher Brian Burns when Kayvon Thibodeaux fell into the back of his right leg. He limped off the field with the training staff but was carted down the tunnel after reaching the sidelines.

He was labeled questionable to return, which must have come as a significant blow to the offensive line, with the Chargers having already lost Rashawn Slater to a torn patellar tendon.

Fortunately, early scans have suggested that the player did not sustain a high-ankle sprain, as initially suspected.
