• The Loveland Planning Commission gave its thumbs-up for a rezoning that was a step toward the city’s goal of building a solar-energy facility in west Loveland. The commission voted 5-3 to recommend that the City Council approve the rezoning of 52.6 acres the city owns west of Mehaffey Park and the removal of the land from the Meadowbrook Ridge Planned Unit Development.

• Carriage drivers from around Colorado arrived in Johnstown to participate in the Fall Follies horse driving competition. “It’s just a great social activity to get involved in,” one competitor said. “It’s some of the nicest people you would ever meet.”
