BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Firefighters responded to a blaze at an abandoned car wash on Lorri Burgess Avenue Sunday afternoon, Sept. 28.

The Baton Rouge Fire Department said crews arrived around 12:47 p.m. and found smoke coming from the roof of the building. Firefighters brought the flames under control in about 18 minutes.

Officials said the structure is considered a total loss, valued at $40,000. No one was inside at the time, and no injuries were reported.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.

BRPD, EMS, and Entergy also assisted at the scene.
