Educating Yorkshire fans have been left in tears after a familiar face from the original series made a return to the show.

The much-loved reality programme returned to Channel 4 last month featuring a fresh cohort of pupils , following its initial broadcast in 2013, which built upon the Bafta-winning 2011 series Educating Essex.

Packed with both comedic and heartfelt scenes, moments from the original Educating Yorkshire became iconic, particularly English teacher Mr Burton helping pupil Musharaf overcome his stutter.

In this evening's episode of the revived series, Musharaf made his way back to Thornhill Community Academy over a decade on, where Mr Burton now holds the position of headteacher.
