A sluggish front has parked near the coast, wringing out tropical moisture over Eastern North Carolina. Tonight stays cloudy and damp with waves of showers—heaviest from the beaches to Highway 17 this evening, pushing inland overnight. It’s warm and muggy, but thunder is limited.

Late tonight into Monday, moisture tied to Tropical Storm Imelda noses in from the south. Expect more widespread showers Monday into Tuesday; a few tropical downpours may briefly overwhelm drains, but not anticipating a widespread flooding.
