(FOX40.COM) — The Fairfield Police Department reported that a stabbing occurred early Saturday morning at a cocktail bar.

At 12:40 a.m. on West Texas Street, a man had reportedly been stabbed and transported to the hospital. FPD stated that when they arrived, officers had learned that the suspect had fled the scene after the incident.

Investigators obtained surveillance footage, witness statements and canvassed the area. According to FPD, the suspect was identified as 40-year-old Robert Flett, as he had left his registered vehicle in the bar parking lot.

Flett was detained and transported to the County Jail after investigators waited for him to return to his car. The suspect faces attempted murder charges, FPD said.
