Firefighters from three Suffolk fire departments put out a two-story house fire in Babylon early Saturday morning, authorities said.
About 40 firefighters from the Babylon, West Babylon and Lindenhurst fire departments responded to the fire on Nehring Avenue around 12:55 a.m., according to a Babylon Fire Department spokesperson.
The fire took about 45 minutes to get under control, according to the department. No injuries were reported.
Asked about the home's condition, the Babylon fire spokesperson said: "The structure is still there, but I don’t believe it’s inhabitable. Firefighters did an outstanding job knocking down the fire."
The flames spread across the first floor up to the second floor, the department said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
