GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — A man has been arrested and charged following a homicide investigation by the Greensboro Police Department, according to a press release.

At about 1:11 p.m. on Sept. 19, police responded to a cardiac call at the Budget Inn in the 500 block of Farragut Street.

At the scene, officers found 53-year-old Demetria Ann Perry dead in a hotel room.

On Sunday, Claude Arthur Chavis Jr., 52, was charged with first-degree murder.

He is in the Guilford County Jail without bond.
