DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — Taylor James Meyer, 31, of Fargo, has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony DWI after refusing to submit to a chemical breath test after an incident in 2020.

According to court records, deputies were called June 13, 2020, to a residence in Audubon after an anonymous caller reported a man who appeared intoxicated was driving a pontoon on the lake.

Witnesses said Meyer took a family member’s new pontoon and drove it erratically up and down the shoreline for about 45 minutes. The relative confirmed the pontoon had been taken without permission, and several people helped guide it onto a lift shortly before deputies arrived.
