NEW YORK — Jazz Chisholm Jr. isn’t in the Yankees ’ starting lineup on Sunday afternoon, but the second baseman is expected to be available off the bench.

Chisholm was hit by a pitch on the inside of his left forearm in Saturday’s win over the Orioles. He walked straight to the Yankees’ dugout, visibly in pain, and after a brief visit with a trainer, Chisholm exited the game.

Later on Saturday, the Yankees learned that Chisholm didn’t have any structural damage in his arm. Imaging, both X-rays and a CT scan, came back negative.

Chisholm was in good spirits about his arm as he walked from his locker to the Yankees’ pregame hitters meeting on Sunday morning. Yankees manager Aaron Boone gave an additional update — with more good news — during his pregame presser.
