Mets fans blame David Stearns for the 2025 season collapse

When the New York Mets had a 45-24 record, a lot of fans believed they were on their way to another postseason appearance. Well, the Mets struggled big time for the last three months.

Sunday was a sad ending to a pitiful season. They lost to the Miami Marlins 4-0. To make matters worse, the Cincinnati Reds also lost to the Milwaukee Brewers . The Mets lost the tiebreaker to the Reds and finished with an 83-79 record. With New York missing the playoffs, there is blame to go around with manager Carlos Mendoza, but there is no question that David Stearns is mainly responsible for this collapse.
