GRESHAM, Ore. — One of the largest cross country meets in the nation, Nike Portland XC drew more than 1,000 high school runners from across the West to Gresham.

On a fast and firm Blue Lake course against elite competition, several Clark County runners notched personal-best times for 5,000 meters.

Cohen Butler of Camas finished fourth in the elite Danner Championships race in a personal-best of 14 minutes, 40 seconds. Lord King Nana-Badu-Weah of Battle Ground placed 10th in 15:03, also a PR.

Battle Ground also had a PR from junior Trae Copper (31st, 15:32). Sophia Rogers placed 34th in a girls Danner Championships, finishing in 18:27.10.

Camas junior Kate Westfall won the girls Division 1 Varsity race in a PR of 18:25.60. Teammate Brianna Mazilu finished seventh in 19:11.10, also a PR.
