The Strother Cup is back in New Lowell.

The Knights held on to win 5-4 over the Owen Sound Baysox in a wild Game 7 on Saturday at New Lowell Recreation Park to reclaim the North Dufferin Baseball League championship.

Owen Sound, who finished just one point behind the Knights in the regular season and won the championship in 2024, came within inches of tying the game in the sixth inning.

In a season full of close contests and memorable moments, the do-or-die Game 7 between these two blossoming rivals didn’t disappoint.

“It’s going to be a good next five to eight years, I think,” said Owen Sound’s Steve Barrett of the rivalry.

It didn’t have the makings of a great game early.

New Lowell stormed out to a 5-1 lead before Owen Sound jolted to life in the sixth inning.
