After eking out a pair of wins on Thursday and Friday night against Peterborough and Kingston , the Soo Greyhounds entered the nation’s capital on Sunday with an opportunity to go undefeated on their only eastern Ontario road swing.
Instead, the warts that nearly cost them in the previous two games came back to bite them in a 7-3 beating at the hands of the Ottawa 67’s.
“We’re a bit of a roller coaster right now,” head coach John Dean said.
The defensive cracks that had lingered throughout the trip split wide open against the 67’s, who feasted on turnovers and odd-man rushes to score five unanswered goals over a 30-minute stretch.
“A lot of good things in the first half of the game, but a lot of really glaring mistakes,” Dean said. “There seems to be a bit of a trend that t
