The new Powerhouse Parramatta will open with the largest exhibition space in the country, with a focus on humanity's mission into outer space.
Cutting edge technology, spaceship parts and the history of space exploration will feature in the two-year exhibition at the new western Sydney museum.
The exhibition, dubbed Task Eternal, will be housed in an 18-metre high space over 2,200 square metres in which visitors will ascend through four sections.
Powerhouse CEO Lisa Havilah says the exhibition will feature elements of science, technology and creativity.
"Task Eternal is an exhibition about our human ambition to get into the sky," Ms Havilah told 702 ABC Radio Sydney.
