SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – A fire broke out in Spokane Business and Industrial Park today, damaging a shed.

According to Chief Paul Kimball with the Spokane Valley Fire Department (SVFD), crews received reports of the fire in the 3700 block of Flora Road at 4:57 p.m.

The fire originated from a waste water burner, which reduces waste water into sludge through evaporation.

Crews arrived on the scene at around 5:04 p.m. and extinguished the fire within five minutes, Chief Kimball said.

Though there was some smoke in the area, the fire did not spread into the main structure on the property. However, there was some external damage.
