New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India will lodge a “very strong protest” against Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) chief Mohsin Naqvi in the next International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting in November.
A massive controversy erupted when Naqvi decided to walk away with the Asia Cup trophy after the Indian team refused to accept it from him after beating Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 final in Dubai. According to reports, Naqvi, after being boycotted by the Indian team, took the trophy back to the hotel.
With no trophy to celebrate with, the victorious Indian team marked the historic occasion of winning the record-extending 9th continental title by mimicking the lifting of the winners’ trophy after the post-match ceremony.
