NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Country music artist Joe Nichols traded the stage for the sidelines Sunday, helping cheer on a fundraising effort to bring Nashville its first fully accessible baseball field.

The Home Run for Hope event drew players, families, and supporters to Bellevue on Sunday, Sept. 28 with one goal: raising money for a field that adheres to the standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act so all children can play.

“This is the kind of stuff that I can look back and be proud of being involved in,” Nichols said. “This is the kind of money that don't spend, and that’s worth working for.”

For Nichols, the cause is also personal. Through his experiences with his own child, the musician said he understands the importance of inclusion.
