Two teenagers have been charged over the stabbing murder of a young Indigenous man.

The 18-year-old from Morwell, 155km east of Melbourne, named as Kaiden Morgan by multiple media outlets, died in an alleged machete attack on Saturday night.

Mr Morgan was found with stab wounds on The Boulevard within the town in Victoria's Gippsland region and taken to hospital, where he died a short time later.

Another man, a 20-year-old from Warragul, discovered nearby on Gillies Crescent was hospitalised with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 19-year-old Traralgon man and a 16-year-old boy from the Latrobe area were arrested on Sunday and charged with murder and intentionally causing serious injury.

Both are scheduled to face Latrobe Valley Magistrates Court in Morwell later on Monday.
