House Judiciary Committee Chairman Robert Craven Sr. is launching a campaign for Rhode Island attorney general on Monday, Sept. 29.
Craven, a North Kingstown Democrat, was a state prosecutor before running for the General Assembly and headed the public corruption unit in the attorney general's office during the state credit union crisis.
He has expressed interest in running for attorney general in past election cycles and in a campaign video announced he intends to enter next year's Democratic primary.
