For decades, Vanessa Amorosi’s soaring voice defined Australian pop.

But behind a successful career that took her from Narre Warren to Los Angeles and included massive hit Absolutely Everybody, the singer was waging a painful private battle that has now burst into public view.

Amorosi, 44, has spoken for the first time about the bitter feud with her mother, Joyleen Robinson, that has torn her family apart and ended in a courtroom.

The rift culminated in 2023 when the star successfully sued her mother for sole ownership of a rural Melbourne property and her Los Angeles home. Ms Robinson, who had been living at the Narre Warren house since 2001, was forced to leave.
