Community conversation: Tulsa Public Schools will host a community listening session 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Selman Room of the district’s Education Service Center, 3027 S. New Haven Ave., regarding the efforts to redesign the branding elements used by Central and Webster middle and high schools. A second session is scheduled for Oct. 28.
As part of a new policy adopted Sept. 8, the district now prohibits schools from using branding elements that incorporate racial, ethnic, gender-based, religious or cultural stereotypes. Any changes to existing branding elements are now subject to approval by the district’s board of education.
