Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska Kearney and Missouri Southern soccer teams battled to a scoreless draw Sunday afternoon at Ron & Carol Cope Stadium.

The Lopers (2-3-2, 0-0-2) and Lions (2-3-3, 0-0-2) both had two ties this weekend. The all-time series is now 5-3-5 in favor of Mo Southern.

On a warm September day, UNK and MSSU both had seven shots with the Lions having a 4-2 lead in corners. Scoring opportunities were a premium with All-Region senior Hanna Schimmer (Council Bluffs, Ia.) having a shot on goal early but leaving the field at the 10- minute mark due to injury. She didn’t return and has already missed one game this fall.

In the second half, sophomore Daniella Iaquinta (Aurora, Colo.) had a shot in the box just go wide of the net as did an attempt by senior Gracie Perez
