DENVER | The Regis Jesuit defensive backfield came up big in the largest moments — specifically the fourth quarter — of Friday night’s clash with parochial school rival Mullen.

The Raiders clung to a touchdown lead in the final quarter and the Mustangs had a slew of chances to catch up, only to be thwarted by a group that included juniors Logan Singer and Will Anzures and sophomore Colt Jones.

All three had interceptions in the final frame — and combined for five on the night, including a hat trick for Singer — as Regis Jesuit held on for a 21-14 win at De la Salle Stadium. Coach Danny Filleman’s team overcame turnovers of its own to win a second straight game after starting in an 0-3 hole.
