A mining company worker will contest a falsifying documents charge allegedly connected to his work on the proposed Avonbank mining project in north-west Victoria.
Murray Wilson, 55, appeared in the Horsham Magistrates Court on Monday, charged with one count of making a false document.
Mr Wilson, who has been suspended from his position with Chinese-backed company WIM Resource, was charged by police after a raid on a Horsham residence in February.
WIM Resources secured the licence to mine the land, about 8 kilometres north-east of Horsham, in March, following a feedback period that received more than 830 submissions.
The company has proposed to dig 12.75 million tonnes of heavy mineral concentrate over 38 years at a site that would operate 24 hours a day.
Mr Wilson sat silently in the
