Dr Cyriac Abby Philips, popularly known as The Liver Doc, could not resist replying to a US-based entrepreneur who claimed alcohol enables “deeper conversations”, especially among men who struggle to open up on sensitive topics when sober.

In a post on X, Andrew Jeffery - a San Francisco-based investor who specialises in acquisitions - wrote about a late-night discussion with friends as he said that alcohol helped them speak more openly.

“I know it’s not cool to drink anymore, but hear me out. Last night, me and two friends (54 and 79) stayed up late talking about life, love, and heartache in a way that’s just harder to do sober. Impossible? Of course not,” Jeffery said.
