A St. John’s man slumped over in the driver’s seat has been arrested after police found a loaded gun in his car.
RNC Officers first started getting calls about the man at around 10:00 Sunday morning. When police arrived, they found drug paraphernalia, and the driver did not appear to be sober.
When police started searching his vehicle, they found a loaded firearm inside.
He’s now facing at least nine charges, including impaired driving, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, careless use of a firearm, unsafe storage, unauthorized possession of a firearm, breach of firearm prohibition and additional firearm offences and breaches.
His license has also been suspended, and his vehicle has been impounded.
The 35-year-old will see a judge later today.
