At least 30 people were detained after a protest over the ‘I love Muhammad’ row turned violent in Ahilyanagar around 7 AM on Monday. According to reports, someone made an objectionable Rangoli against the muslim community during Navratri celebrations. Following this, the community people reached the police station to complain.

An FIR was lodged, and the unnamed individual who had made the Rangoli was arrested. However, the angry group of protestors was not convinced. Shortly after, they took to the streets to protest in Kotla under the Tofkhana Police Station limits. They even pelted stones at the Police when asked to stop the demonstrations. In response, Ahilyanagar police resorted to a mild lathi charge to disperse the crowd. The situation is under control now.
