A video of residents in Bengaluru performing a homa ( havan ) in front of a pothole near Tambuchetty Junction, Cox Town, has gone viral as it drew attention once again to the city’s recurring pothole problem.

Frustrated by the state of roads, residents of Bharatinagar organised the unusual protest on Saturday.

Priests were invited to conduct the ritual, with the pothole decorated using marigold garlands and rose petals. A man dressed in a pink dhoti was seen performing the rituals, while onlookers gathered around as part of the demonstration.

Those involved said the symbolic act was aimed at urging the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to take urgent steps in addressing the pothole menace.
