Richmond's new minor league baseball stadium, CarMax Park , is scheduled to open in April, but the buildings directly outside the stadium will not come online until 2028 and beyond.

A clearer vision of the Diamond District, Richmond's 67-acre, $2.4 billion mixed-use project, is beginning to take shape. Angie Rodgers, director of Richmond's Economic Development Authority, recently updated city leaders about the neighborhood's progress.

"We're going to experience opening day next spring, but a portion of this development, particularly the mixed-use phase of this development, is still going to be in progress," Rodgers said.
