India's trade agreement with the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), signed in March this year, will come into force on October 1, according to statements made by Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, sources reported. The pact is expected to boost investment, employment and trade flows between India and the four-nation bloc comprising Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein.
Formal launch in New Delhi
The agreement, formally titled the Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA), will be inaugurated at an event at Bharat Mandapam in the capital on Tuesday, September 30.
