A man from Colorado claimed that he lost his life savings after becoming the target of a cryptocurrency romance scam. The man, who kept his identity private, revealed that he met a woman on Ashley Madison, a dating site for married people looking for affairs. Their conversations moved to WhatsApp, where they shared photos and video calls. During the conversation, the woman introduced him to cryptocurrency, claiming she made big profits and offered to help him protect his money, especially during a divorce.

He trusted the woman and agreed to invest. In the next six weeks, he transferred money in four different cryptocurrency transactions, which ended up costing him $1.4 Million, which he had planned to use after retiring.
