Netflix’s top 10 list has a new contender this week, and this time it comes from Spain. “Angela,” a psychological thriller series adapted from the British drama “Angela Black,” first aired in its native country last year before quietly making its way to Netflix U.S. on September 26.

It didn’t stay quiet for long though, as the show has already climbed to the No. 5 spot, overtaking massive hits like “Alice in Borderland” and “Wednesday” (as of September 29).

At its core, “Angela” follows a woman who seems to have the perfect marriage and family life, only to reveal the dark reality of domestic abuse lurking beneath the surface. When an old acquaintance suddenly re-enters her life, long-hidden secrets begin to emerge, and her carefully constructed world teeters on the brink of collapse.
