At least 10 persons died in rain-related incidents in Maharashtra in the past two days, The Indian Express reported on Monday.
Four deaths took place in the Nashik district, two each in Dharashiv and Ahilyanagar and one each in Jalna and Yavatmal, the state disaster management department said.
Several parts of Marathwada and western Maharashtra received heavy rains in the past two days. While the Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar district received 110.3 mm rains, Ahilyanagar got 81.8 mm and Nashik got 76.6 mm, the Hindustan Times reported.
Till Sunday evening, the authorities had shifted more than 11,000 persons to safer locations. Of these, 7,200 persons were from the Marathwada region.
