Over the summer, Larry Mazzola, Jr. read a series of news stories about a skate park going in at Sunset Dunes. These stories were fun — but Mazzola wasn’t entertained. He serves on the Recreation and Parks Commission, but the installation of a bitchin’ oceanfront skate park was news to him.

“I have to read in the paper that there’s a new skate park?” he asked Recreation and Park Department general manager Phil Ginsburg at the July 17 commission meeting. “We should know these things.”
