VIJAYAPURA: A team of officials inspecting the flood-affected areas in the district were left stranded after their vehicle broke down on a submerged bridge. The PWD officials were heading from Indi to the Bhima river basin areas when the incident occurred.

The officials were forced to walk to the other side of the bridge as the vehicle could not be fixed. Heavy rainfall in Maharashtra has caused flooding in the Bhima river, affecting several areas in Vijayapura district.

The overflowing Bhima river has caused widespread flooding in the region with people stranded in affected areas and many losing their homes and belongings.
