FAYETTEVILLE, Ark — Arkansas offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino has been appointed as interim head football coach for the remainder of the 2026 season after Sam Pittman was fired on Sept. 28.
Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Hunter Yurachek said the national search for the university's next head coach will begin immediately. It may come as no surprise to Razorback fans that Petrino has reportedly expressed interest in taking on the role.
"That search will include coach Petrino, who has expressed his desire to be a candidate for the full-time job," Yurachek said.
