KALABURAGI: The flood waters of the Bhima river have caused significant disruptions in the district, including the closure of the Bidar-Srirangapatna National Highway due to the submergence of the Kattisangavi bridge in Jewargi taluk. This has resulted in a massive traffic jam with over 800-1000 vehicles stranded on the road.
Drivers of the stranded vehicles were struggling to find food and shelter for the last three days, but the district administration has so far made no effort to help them.
Meanwhile, the SDRF has been deployed to rescue people in affected areas, including Mandarwada village in Jewargi taluk which has been cut off for the last six days. The affected families were moved to safer locations. A two-month-old baby was rushed to the hospital by boat it fell ill in Mandarwad
