Mumbai: A 56-year-old woman lawyer living in Powai was murdered on Sunday. The Powai Police have arrested her husband Rajiv Chandrabhan in connection with the case.

About The Case

The deceased has been identified as Savitridevi Chandrabhan. She had been living separately from her husband, who had been trying to persuade her to reconcile. However, when she refused, he allegedly smothered her with a pillow in a fit of rage.

Savitridevi Chandrabhan, a lawyer, lived alone in the Raheja building in Powai. She was found unconscious in her house on Sunday afternoon. Locals alerted the police control room, after which she was rushed to hospital. However, doctors declared her dead on arrival. She had died of suffocation.
