Ukai Dam witnessing over 2 lakh cusecs inflow; 1.7 lakh cusecs being discharged downstream September 29, 2025
Surat: With the incessant rainfall in the upstream area, the inflow into Ukai, the second-largest dam in Gujarat, has crossed 2 lakh cusecs. Considering the inflow, authorities are expected to increase water discharge to 2.00 lakh cusecs later today.
As of 4 pm today, the Ukai Dam has reached 97.67% of its storage capacity, with a present gross storage of 7,241.58 MCM against a design gross storage of 7,414.29 MCM. The current water level in the dam stands at 104.86 m, against the rule level for 1st October of 105.16 m, and the inflow is 2,06,999 cusecs. To manage the outflow, 1,70,976 cusecs is being released downstream into the Tapi River, with an additional canal outflow of 1
