JACKSON TOWNSHIP — Two children were killed and three others were seriously injured when a horse and buggy was struck by a vehicle in southern Northumberland County Sunday night.

According to state police at Stonington, a 9-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl were killed when the buggy they were riding in along Route 225 was struck from behind. The crash occurred just south of the PennDOT equipment shed between Dornsife and Red Cross.
