Two days after a stampede at Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TK) chief and actor Vijay’s rally at Karur claimed 41 lives, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Monday issued an appeal to people to not spread misinformation about the incident.
“I have been seeing news on social media about fake news doing the rounds. No leader of any political party would like their people to lose their lives,” Stalin said amid strong sentiments over the incident at Vijay’s rally on Saturday.

“They are our Tamil family, and at this sad time, I request that no one spread any false news. It is also necessary to build new rules and regulations that should be followed by every political party planning a rally…,” Stalin added in a video message.
