Bhubaneswar: To ensure smooth and secure celebrations of Durga Puja across the city, the Bhubaneswar Urban Police District has deployed a massive contingent comprising 305 police officers and 58 platoons. The deployment includes specialised units such as the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), the Special Tactical Unit (STU), and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad, all equipped with the necessary tools to handle any untoward incidents.

This year, Bhubaneswar is hosting a total of 193 Puja Pandals, divided into three categories—48 in Category A, 71 in Category B, and 68 in Category C. Additionally, there are 24 special Gold, Silver, and Mukuta pandals, 7 locations designated for Ravan Podi, 5 mass processions (Vasani), and 7 Mina Bazar events.
