A search is underway for a man accused of fatally shooting one person on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation and wounding another.

Ethan Murphy has been identified as the suspect in the shooting, which occurred Sunday night in Wolf Point, and law enforcement is asking residents to shelter in place until his arrest. In the past month, four people have died in two separate shootings on the Fort Peck Reservation.

“Law enforcement continues to actively search for Ethan Murphy,” read the most recent update from Wolf Point Police Department posted to social media, “who remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous. The investigation has determined this is likely an isolated incident, with several leads currently being pursued. Residents are advised to exercise caution.”
