HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- An arson investigation is underway after an apartment building went up in flames in the Third Ward area on Sunday, fire officials said.

The Houston Fire Department said it happened at a two-story apartment building along Tuam Street at about 11:15 p.m.

According to firefighters, they had issues with the water supply while battling the fire.

"The closest hydrant was dry, so it delayed water supply, but we were able to go to plan B, establish another water supply, and put the fire out," HFD District Chief Justin Wells said.

Wells said one person was taken to the hospital and another was being evaluated by EMS.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
