The Leh Apex Body (LAB) on Monday announced that it will boycott the scheduled talks with the Centre, demanding an impartial judicial probe into the firing by security forces on September 24 that left four people dead and nearly 90 others injured. The demand comes amid ongoing agitation in Ladakh for statehood and constitutional safeguards under the Sixth Schedule.
The next round of talks between the Centre and representatives of Ladakh, including members of the Leh Apex Body and the Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA), was scheduled for October 6.
