Kieran Culkin's Emmys plea may have paid off.

The "Succession" star, 42, is expecting his third child with wife Jazz Charton, almost two years after he famously asked her for more kids on stage at the Emmy Awards and again earlier this year at the Oscars.

Culkin and Charton shared the news on the red carpet for opening night of "Waiting for Godot" in New York on Sunday, Sept. 28. The couple posed for photos together, with the Oscar-winning actor placing his hand over his wife's baby bump.

USA TODAY has reached out to representatives for Culkin.

In an Instagram post on Sept. 29, Charton joked that she "saw Keanu Reeves on Broadway and now I'm 9 months pregnant." Reeves stars alongside Alex Winter in "Waiting for Godot," which opened Sept. 28 at the Hudson Theatre. "I made a deal with this baby to let me make it to this before labor, not sure what it wants in return but I'm CLEARLY a woman of my word," she quipped.

Culkin and Charton, who have been married since 2013, are already parents to daughter Kinsey Sioux, 6, and son Wilder Wolf, 4.

In January 2024, Culkin won the Emmy for lead actor in a drama series for "Succession" and ended his speech by thanking "my beautiful wife" for "sharing your life with me and for giving me two amazing kids." He added, "Jazz, I want more. You said maybe if I win!"

After the show, Culkin told reporters he had been asking Charton to have another child "for a while" prior to the Emmys and reminded her of their deal after he won a Golden Globe the week prior. "Instead of just talking to her in private like a human, I blasted her on stage, which was very rude," he quipped.

More than a year later, Culkin won the Oscar for best supporting actor for "A Real Pain" and referenced this viral Emmys moment in his acceptance speech.

"About a year ago, I was on a stage like this and I very stupidly, publicly said that I want a third kid from her, because she said if I won the award, she would give me the kid," the actor said. "Turns out, she said that because she didn't think I was going to win."

But Culkin went on to reveal that after the Emmys, Charton told him that "I guess I owe you a third kid," to which he responded that he actually wants four children.

"She turned to me — I swear to God, this happened, it was just over a year ago — (and) she said, 'I will give you four when you win an Oscar," he said.

Culkin closed his speech by telling Charton, "No pressure, I love you, I'm really sorry I did this again, and let's get cracking on those kids!"

Speaking to reporters after his Oscar win, Culkin noted he almost turned down his role in "A Real Pain" because he didn't want to spend time away from his children.

"The way the schedule changed right before we started, it was taking me away from my kids for almost a month, and I was like, 'Well, I don't want to do that,'" Culkin said. "And then I got talked into it, which, obviously, I'm very glad that I was."

Culkin previously told Interview magazine in 2023 that he doesn't like to be away from his children "for more than two days at a time."
